Federica Paolucci

I am a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Constitutional and Public Law at Bocconi University. My research investigates how constitutional law can respond to the rise of algorithmic power, with a focus on artificial intelligence regulation, fundamental rights, biometric technologies, digital constitutionalism, and impact assessments.

I hold a PhD in Legal Studies from Bocconi University, awarded cum laude, with a dissertation on constitutional safeguards, fundamental rights impact assessment, and facial recognition technologies.

My current position is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the FIS DIGCON project, “Digital Constitutionalism: Rights, Remedies and Policy in the Algorithmic Society”, at Bocconi University, Baffi Research Centre

Within this project, her work focuses on the constitutional and procedural dimensions of AI governance, including impact assessments, accountability mechanisms, institutional responsibilities, and fundamental rights safeguards in the implementation of European digital regulation.

At the same time, she is working on the finalisation of her first monograph, forthcoming from Routledge in 2027.
